Dr. Al Soltan was recognized by The American Cancer Society for his efforts and dedication in the fight against cancer. As Honorary Chairman of the 2001 Baldwin County Relay For Life, Dr. Soltan led his team to raise the most funds of any office with less than 100 employees.
In addition to raising the most funds, Dr. Soltan and GCS won an award for the tent decoration contest.
The Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society’s signature activity. It offers everyone in a community a chance to participate in the fight against cancer.
Teams of people camp out at a local high school, park, or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event. Relays are an overnight event, up to 24 hours in length.
