Atlanta metro physicians believe the best oncologists are found at Georgia Cancer Specialists, with six GCS physicians selected as “Top Doctors” according to Consumers’ Guide to Top Doctors.
Recognized were Dr. Rodolfo E. Bordoni, Dr. Bruce A. Feinberg, Dr. Janice A. Galleshaw, Dr. Bancroft Lesesne, Dr. Melvin R. Moore, and Dr. Jayanthi Srinivasiah.
Only 17 oncologists were honored in the Atlanta area, which means Georgia Cancer Specialists has more than 40 percent of the “Top Doctors.” The 2002 consumer guide was recently published by Consumers’ Checkbook Magazine, headquartered in Washington, D.C.
According to the publication, the list was compiled by surveying approximately 260,000 physicians in the 50 largest Metropolitan Statistical Areas in the U.S. who have active status in the American Medical Association. Each doctor was asked to tell the magazine which specialists, in 35 different fields, “he or she would consider most desirable for care of a loved one.”
The Atlanta Metro Area was defined as Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry, and Rockdale counties.
