Georgia Cancer Specialists physicians, employees, and staff were honored for their commitment to excellence at the GCS Holiday Party, held December 13, 2003 at the Crowne Plaza Ravinia in Dunwoody, Georgia.
“It was a terrific celebration of the season and our hard-working and talented group of physicians and employees,” said GCS CEO Dr. Bruce Feinberg. “These are the people that make a positive difference in the lives of our patients.”
Pete Zeman, GCS’ Facilities Manager, was recognized with the Spirit of GCS Award, an annual distinction given to the employee that has best demonstrated the spirit that GCS strives for.
“Pete exemplifies the very best of GCS,” said GCS COO Dr. Wendy Hawke. “He is most deserving of this award.”
Dr. Feinberg was awarded the inaugural Feinberg Award, which will be given every year to the GCS physician or employee that demonstrates innovative leadership in their position.
“Dr. Feinberg has meant so much to his patients, this practice, and all of cancer care,” said Dr. Hawke. “His innovative approach and its impact can not be overstated.”
A number of GCS physicians and employees were honored for their years of service.
Le Ann Smith was honored for 15 years of service.
Lori Nichols, Patricia Lavelle, Dr. Jorge Spinolo, and Steve Yurman were honored for 10 years of service.
Honored for five years of service were: Brenda Vashaw, Mendy Adams, Michael Reagan, Tracy Starkey, Rebecca Bishop, Bridgitte Jackson, Jenise Lewis, Dr. Richard Loyd, Maureen Ward, Mary Cooper, Gayle Hesser, Julie Harbin, Jerri Carroll, Dr. Al Soltan, Lucille Adams, Celestine Green, Kim Sobolik, Nancy Marsh, Susan Townley, Anne-Marie Happe, Rosemary Miller, Laura Snyder, Carla Chapman, Bonnie Dixon, and Teresa Wilkinson.
