Georgia Cancer Specialists (GCS) physician Dr. Janice Galleshaw will be the featured speaker at the December 16 program, “Take Charge of Your Future: Hormonal Therapy, Breast Cancer, and You,” presented by the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS), at the Westin Buckhead. Dr. Galleshaw, who is recognized as a “national expert” on the program flyer, will discuss new advances in hormonal therapy.
Dr. Galleshaw, who was the principle investigator for the STAR Trial (study of tamoxifen and raloxifene) for breast cancer prevention in the Atlanta region, said she always enjoys speaking to the community about the latest in breast cancer treatment.
“Whether directly or indirectly, breast cancer affects everybody, and sharing the latest breakthroughs in care will help that much more in eventually finding a cure,” she said.
Also speaking at the program will be Jean Lynn, an oncology nurse consultant and adjunct assistant professor at the George Washington University School of Public Health.
The program is presented by the Metro Atlanta Chapter of the ONS. ONS is professional organization of more than 30,000 registered nurses and other healthcare providers dedicated to excellence in patient care, education, research, and administration in oncology nursing.
Dr. Galleshaw practices at the GCS Northside and Alpharetta offices.
