Georgia Cancer Specialists (GCS), the largest private oncology/hematology practice in the Southeast, continues to grow with the addition of Dr. Nishan Fernando. He will practice at the Cumming office alongside Dr. Bancroft Lesesne and will join Drs. Szabo and Srinivasiah at the Johns Creek office in Suwanee.

Dr. Fernando joins GCS after serving as an Associate in Medicine in the Department of Medicine’s Division of Medical Oncology at Duke University Medical Center. He received his medical degree from the Duke University School of Medicine and completed both his residency and fellowship at Duke University Medical Center.
GCS now has 34 physicians and 28 offices throughout metro Atlanta and North and Central Georgia.
Dr. Fernando is a frequent and well-known speaker in the medical oncology community and has published numerous papers-particularly concerning colorectal cancer, his area of special interest.
