Georgia Cancer Specialists V.P. and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Bancroft Lesesne was the featured medical speaker at a Northside Hospital Cancer Care Program held Tuesday, June 22, at the Roswell Cultural Arts Center.
Dr. Lesesne, who spoke about the latest in cancer diagnosis and treatment, said, “I’m happy I was able to participate in this valuable program.”
Also speaking during the program were Dede Malpass, Psy. D., support group facilitator of The Wellness Community-Atlanta Northside, and Robin McILvain, a cancer survivor and co-author of B.O.O.B.S. (A Bunch Of Outrageous Breast Cancer Survivors).
B.O.O.B.S. is a collection of personal stories by 10 women from diagnosis through treatment, recovery, and beyond. In the author’s acknowledgements section, all the women thank their medical staff, and three thank GCS physicians by name, including Dr. Lesesne, Dr. Pradeep Jolly, and Dr. Janice Galleshaw.
According to organizers, the event, which is free, is designed to “celebrate cancer survivorship” at an “inspirational and informational program.”
A book signing took place before the presentation, and a Q&A session followed the presentation.
Dr. Lesesne practices at the GCS Northside and Alpharetta offices.
