During its push to promote the fourth annual Totes 2 Tots suitcase drive, GCS physicians appeared in several television interviews, including on major network affiliates in Atlanta and Macon
“Totes 2 Tots is a great program, and for it to be successful, the local communities need to know about it and get behind it,” said Dr. Bruce Feinberg, President/CEO of GCS. “These TV appearances really drive the cause forward.”
Dr. Feinberg appeared on WSB-TV’s “People 2 People” on Sunday, January 8. WSB-TV has supported Totes 2 Tots as a part of its Family 2 Family program for the past two years.
Dr. Wendy Hawke, COO of GCS, was interviewed on the Fox 5 morning show Good Day Atlanta on Monday, January 9. Both Dr. Feinberg and Dr. Hawke showed examples of ideal tote bags and backpacks the practice wishes to collect on MLK Jr. Day.
In addition, Dr. Cheryl Jones was interviewed for a news story by Fox 24 in Macon, and Dr. William Whaley was interviewed for a newscast on ETC3TV in Blue Ridge.
The TV appearances seemed to have a positive effect on Totes, as GCS collected over 1,900 bags during this year’s event. Totes 2 Tots is a program dedicated to delivering new or gently used suitcases to foster children all over Georgia, who often times must shuffle their belongings from home to home in garbage bags. The annual volunteer event was first launched by GCS in 2002. Since the start of the program, a total of 6,200 bags have been collected.
