On Wednesday, February 22, Georgia Cancer Specialists (GCS) physician Dr. Mansoor Saleh appeared in a feature news story about a new prostate cancer vaccine on Fox 5 Atlanta’s 6 PM newscast. Dr. Saleh is principal investigator and director of clinical research for GCS.
The news piece followed the story of GCS patient George Swain, who is enrolled in a clinical trial for the prostate cancer vaccine GVAX. GVAX is a potentially groundbreaking cancer therapy, currently a Phase III clinical trial, which is administered through a series of injections.
“This story was a great opportunity for the public to hear about GCS and the innovative research and treatments we provide,” said Dr. Bruce Feinberg, President/CEO of GCS.
Georgia Cancer Specialists is the largest private oncology/hematology practice in the Southeast and a leader in advanced cancer treatment and research. GCS is the only private oncology practice in Georgia to offer Phase I clinical trials, where drugs are given for the first time to a small group of people in order to show that the drug is not toxic in humans.
