Georgia Cancer Specialists (GCS) physician Dr. Rodolfo Bordoni chaired the prestigious fourth annual Atlanta Lung Cancer Symposium at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Buckhead the weekend of March 24-25. The event drew lung cancer experts from around the globe to discuss advancements in the research and treatment of the disease. Dr. Bordoni founded the event in 2003.
“We had tremendous success with this event the past three years,” said Dr. Bordoni. “It was wonderful to see such prominent figures in research and cancer care gathered in one place.”
The symposium is one of the premier professional healthcare seminars on lung cancer in the nation, and is the only event of its kind in the Southeast. GCS physicians Dr. Wendy Hawke and Dr. Shyam Khanwani participated in the event.
Other GCS physicians who were in attendance included President/CEO Dr. Bruce Feinberg, Dr. Al Soltan, Dr. Gena Volas-Redd, and Dr. Lynn Zemsky
Topics covered at the symposium included new drug development, lung cancer in women, therapeutic advances, and novel approaches to chemoprevention.
Dr. Bordoni offers comprehensive cancer care at the GCS Kennestone office in Marietta.
