The physicians and staff of the Georgia Cancer Specialists’s (GCS) Milledgeville office did their part during the annual American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Baldwin County on April 21. During the event, the GCS team raised $5,000 for cancer research.
“We always encourage our employees to participate in activities such as this, and we are thrilled that our team in Milledgeville was able to raise such a large amount for this wonderful program,” said Dr. Bruce Feinberg, President/CEO of GCS.
According to the American Cancer Society’s website, Relay For Life is a fun-filled overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money for research and programs of the American Cancer Society. During the event, teams of people gather at schools, fairgrounds, or parks and take turns walking or running laps. Each team tries to keep at least one team member on the track at all times.
