Georgia Cancer Specialists (GCS) physician Dr. Carlos Franco appeared on CNN En Español on Thursday, May 11, after the passing of Latino singer/songwriter Soraya from breast cancer. She had a long history of the disease in her family.
“There is a great need to educate the Latino community in all aspects of cancer,” said Dr. Franco. “I was happy to be able to appear on CNN En Español, and to reach this particular audience.”
The news network has interviewed Dr. Franco several times before. He is often consulted on matters of cancer care, and is sought out for news stories, particularly when they pertain to Latinos.
CNN En Español is seen in 12 million households and motel rooms in Mexico, Central and South America, and the Caribbean, as well as 2 million households in the U.S. with an estimated viewership of more than 25 million people. Since 1997, CNN En Español has provided 24-hour news produced and reported in Spanish.
Dr. Franco offers comprehensive cancer care at the GCS Alpharetta office and the GCS Northside office in Atlanta.
