About half of the 35 Georgia Cancer Specialists (GCS) physicians attended the recent 42nd Annual American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) meeting held at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, June 2-6, 2006. Dr. Mansoor Saleh, Director of Clinical Research at GCS, also presented at the meeting.
According to ASCO’s web site, www.asco.org, the annual meeting is “considered the premier educational and scientific event in the oncology community,” drawing physicians from all over the world.
“This gathering of oncology professionals is unprecedented in our community, and it allows us to share new and exciting information on all types of breakthroughs,” said GCS President and CEO, Dr. Bruce Feinberg.
Dr. Saleh submitted several abstracts for presentation on behalf of GCS, including “Eltrombopag, a Novel Oral Platelet Growth Factor, Increased Platelet Counts in Patients With Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP) and Healthy Subjects.”
