Georgia Cancer Specialists (GCS) President/CEO Dr. Bruce Feinberg was recently interviewed for the American Society of Clinical Oncology’s Journal of Oncology Practice (JOP). The article ran in the publication’s July 2006 issue.
In the article, three oncology groups were compared—one which outsources all laboratory work, one which outsources some, and GCS, who has all of their laboratory services on-site. Dr. Feinberg spoke of the necessity of having up-to-the-minute lab results on his patients in order to treat them properly.
“I must have reliable, real-time data to determine if patients are appropriate for therapy that day,” Dr. Feinberg says in the article. “Sacrificing our exquisite quality controls could easily jeopardize outcomes, and definitely creates an additional burden for patients.”
According to its website, the Journal of Oncology Practice’s mission is to provide oncologists and other oncology professionals with information, news, and tools to enhance practice efficiency and promote a high standard for quality of patient care. JOP will be recognized as the authoritative resource for practicing oncologists making day-to-day decisions regarding clinical and administrative management.
Dr. Feinberg is often sought out as an expert in all fields of cancer care practice, and has been interviewed by national publications several times before, including the New York Times and CNN. He offers comprehensive cancer care at the GCS Stemmer office in Decatur and the GCS Rockdale office in Conyers.
