Georgia Cancer Specialists (GCS), the largest private oncology/hematology practice in the Southeast, was recently named one of the top four physician practices in the country by Physicians Practice magazine for its “2006 Practice of the Year” award. GCS was the only oncology practice chosen for the prestigious award.
The award, in its fifth year, is conferred to the best and most efficient practices in the country, based on judging by a panel of six experts in finance, health care, information technology, and human resources.
“We are extremely delighted to be recognized with this great honor,” said Dr. Wendy Hawke, COO of GCS. “We strive to be at the forefront of every aspect of healthcare.”
According to its web site, Physicians Practice is America’s leading practice management journal, circulated to more than 300,000 physicians nationwide through partnerships with more than 50 hospitals and medical centers, including academic, community, faith-based, and specialty hospitals. The publications seeks to provide practical, proven solutions for “real-world” issues facing physicians, such as billing, coding, collections, technology deployment, workflow, staffing, compensation, as well as substantive advice on financial, budget-management, and legal matters.
GCS will be featured in the November/December issue of Physicians Practice along with the other three winners.
