Georgia Cancer Specialists (GCS)—the largest private oncology and hematology practice in the southeast—now offers comprehensive cancer care in Catoosa County, with the recent opening of its newest office in the Mike and Leila Fuller Cancer Center in Fort Oglethorpe/Ringgold, Georgia.
“We’re thrilled at the opening of our Fort Oglethorpe/Ringgold office,” said Dr. Bruce Feinberg, GCS president and CEO. “GCS is committed to providing the very best in cancer care. Our presence, with the array of services already offered by the doctors and staff at Fuller Cancer Center, provides truly comprehensive cancer care.”
GCS physicians Dr. Sal Bruno and Dr. Gena Volas-Redd are practicing at the new Ringgold office.
“It’s wonderful to be a part of our expansion into North Georgia,” said Bruno, who also sees patients at GCS’s Kennestone office in Marietta. “Our practice offers access to state-of-the-art cancer care, including availability of the most current clinical trials.”
Dr. Volas-Redd, GCS’s Northwest Georgia’s regional director, looks forward to the group’s participation in the Mike and Leila Fuller Cancer Center. “GCS believes in providing whole body care by incorporating family counseling and education, nutritional support, and even genetic testing into our cancer care treatment plans,” said Dr. Volas-Redd. “In this way, we commit to a more holistic approach to the cancer patient and their family.”
The new GCS office is part of the Mike & Leila Fuller Center for Cancer Care at Hutcheson on the Parkway, where cancer patients now have access to medical oncology and hematology services, wellness and fitness programs, and genetic counseling. The addition of medical oncology services augments the comprehensive radiation oncology, imaging, and outpatient surgical services currently offered by The Fuller Cancer Center. Care is coordinated among the specialists, resulting in a patient’s rapid access to physician consultation, imaging, diagnostics, pathology, and treatment implementation.
“I am deeply honored that a distinguished, national class medical oncology group such as Georgia Cancer Specialists has made a commitment to provide care for the patients of Northwest Georgia and Chattanooga area at the Fuller Cancer Center,” states Noel Scidmore, MD, Medical Director of the Fuller Cancer Center.
“Our goal is to provide the very best and most convenient care for cancer patients in the region. With the addition of GCS at the Fuller Cancer Center, cancer patients are now able to receive their full range of cancer treatment in one location,” said Charles L. Stewart, President and CEO of Hutcheson Medical Center.
“The Fuller Cancer Center is the only cancer center in the area that provides this level of service, as at other cancer facilities, patients must go to different locations for the various aspects of their treatment. It is one of Hutcheson’s strategic initiatives to recruit physician specialists who are committed to the community, so patients can receive optimal care convenient to home. We are delighted to be the first in the region to offer this high level of quality and access. We are pleased to have Georgia Cancer Specialists, with their knowledge and commitment, to serve in this capacity.”
GCS accepts Medicare, Medicaid and most insurance. The address is 4750 Battlefield Parkway, Ringgold, GA 30736. The office phone number is 706-866-0734.
