Dr. Cheryl Jones of Georgia Cancer Specialists, the largest private oncology and hematology practice in the Southeast, was interviewed for a story regarding skin cancer on Macon news station Fox 24 in May 2007.
Dr. Jones appeared with a GCS skin cancer patient, and discussed skin cancer prevention and the importance of using sunscreen daily.
“It is especially important to alert people of the dangers of skin cancer during the months when they will spend most of their time outdoors,” said Dr. Jones.
Melanoma—the most serious form of skin cancer—can be fatal. If recognized and treated early, however, it is nearly 100 percent curable.
Dr. Cheryl Jones offers comprehensive care at the GCS Macon and Lake Oconee offices.
