Dr. Richard Loyd of Georgia Cancer Specialists, the largest private oncology/hematology practice in the Southeast, recently spoke on breast cancer history, survival rates, and risk factors as part of Pink Ribbon Runway’s second annual Fundraising Gala.
The event — an annual educational and fun-filled fundraiser to benefit breast cancer research, education, screening, outreach and treatment — was held March 14 at the Carl House in Auburn, Georgia.
“It’s thrilling speak at such an exceptional fundraising event,” Dr. Loyd said. “It’s extremely important that we increase awareness for the early detection and prevention of breast cancer.”
In addition to Dr. Loyd’s speech, the evening featured an extraordinary Carl House dinner buffet with open wine and beer bar, a live and silent auction run by Rhonda Duffy and her auction team of Duffy Realty and Duffy Auctions, and a fashion show featuring “The Pink Ribbon Runway Collection” designed by Natasha Olds. The Jeni Michelson and Society Express Band were on hand to offer entertainment and dancing.
The Pink Ribbon Runway is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt non-profit organization whose mission is to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research, treatment, screening and education and to support organizations that conduct research, educate the community and raise awareness and funds for breast cancer.
