When Henry County resident Phil Turner was diagnosed with Stage 3B lung cancer in 2005, he was referred to Georgia Cancer Specialists for treatment. Then, when his chemotherapy treatment failed to keep his disease from progressing, he turned to GCS’s clinical research program, headed up by Dr. Mansoor Saleh, Director of Clinical Research.
Six years after his diagnosis, Turner says he feels so great he often forgets he has cancer. He has maintained employment as building maintenance superintendent at the Henry County Water and Sewerage Authority, and names golfing and antique cars among his favorite hobbies.
