Beginning Tuesday, May 3, Georgia Cancer Specialists – a Top 10 practice in the U.S. – will have two physicians practicing from the GCS-Cumming (1505 Northside Blvd., Suite 4300; 770-205-1331) office. Current GCS-Cumming physician Dr. Nishan H. Fernando will be joined by Dr. Jorge P. Leguizamo.
Dr. Leguizamo will now practice at the GCS-Cumming and GCS-Gwinnett (698 Duluth Hwy., Suite 201, Lawrenceville; 770-822-0788) locations.
“I’m thrilled to welcome Dr. Leguizamo to the Cumming office, and we certainly need his help thanks the increase in patient volume we’ve been seeing,” Dr. Fernando said.
The Cumming office moved to its current home in early February of 2011 and have more than three times the amount of space than they did in their previous clinic. The office move, coupled with the addition of Dr. Leguizamo to the Cumming staff, will help to better serve the growing Forsyth and North Fulton region.
“I look forward to joining the wonderful team at the Cumming office,” said Dr. Leguizamo. “It’s exciting to have a need for another physician in the Forsyth community, and I’m proud to offer care to this area.”
Dr. Leguizamo’s special interests are clinical trails, hematological malignancies, and breast cancer, and he is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.
In addition to the GCS-Cumming location, Dr. Fernando also offers comprehensive cancer care at the GCS-Alpharetta (3330 Preston Ridge Road, Suite 110; 678-566-6995) office. His areas of special interest include gastrointestinal cancers (colon, pancreatic, and esophageal), lung cancer, and lymphoma.
