April 12, 2012 (Athens) — Georgia Cancer Specialists (GCS)—a Top 10 private cancer practice in the U.S.—continues to grow and expand its services with the addition of Dr. Mohan Krishnamachary. Dr. Krishnamachary is board certified in medical oncology, geriatric medicine, and internal medicine. He will practice at the GCS-Athens office.

Dr. Krishnamachary is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology, the American Geriatric Society, the American Medical Association, and the American Medical Directors Association. He is board eligible in hematology.
Speaking of his decision to specialize in oncology, Dr. Krishnamachary said, “Cancer diagnosis is one of the most difficult situations a person can ever confront. Although one individual is affected physically, an entire family feels and shares the burden of the disease.”

Dr. Krishnamachary completed his medical degree at the University of Health Sciences in Andhra Pradesh, India. He completed his residency at St. Barnabas Hospital in Bronx, NY, and fellowships in oncology and hematology at the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, KS and the University of Wisconsin in Madison, WI, respectively. His special interests include geriatric oncology.
