August 8, 2012 (Atlanta) — Georgia Cancer Specialists (GCS)—a Top 10 private cancer practice in the U.S.—continues to grow and expand its services with the addition of Gina D’Amato, M.D. Dr. D’Amato, a sarcoma specialist, is board certified in medical oncology and internal medicine. She will practice at the GCS-Northside office (1100 Johnson Ferry Road, Suite 600, Sandy Springs, 30342).
Dr. J. Bancroft Lesesne, president and CEO of GCS, says Dr. D’Amato will be a wonderful addition to the practice. “Dr. D’Amato is extensively published and is a nationally recognized expert in sarcoma, with patients who travel from around the country to see her,” he said. “She is a major contributor to advances in sarcoma treatment, having spent her career prior to coming to GCS in the study of sarcoma. Before joining GCS, Dr. D’Amato served as the Director of Sarcoma Medical Oncology at the Winship Cancer Institute at Emory University. She received her medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine in Miami, FL. Dr. D’Amato completed her residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL and a fellowship in oncology and hematology at the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute in Tampa, FL.
