October 3, 2012 (Athens) — Georgia Cancer Specialists (GCS)—a Top 10 private cancer practice in the U.S.—continues to grow and expand its services with the addition of Ranjana Bhargava, M.D. Dr. Bhargava is board certified in internal medicine and board eligible in oncology and hematology. She will practice at the GCS Athens office.

Dr. Bhargava received her medical degree from M. S. Ramaiah Medical College in Bangalore, India. She completed her residency at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC. She was awarded the Best Teacher Award during her residency at the University of South Carolina, where she also served as Chief Resident. Dr. Bhargava completed a fellowship in oncology and hematology at the University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Cancer Center in Baltimore, MD. Breast cancer, colon cancer, and benign hematology are among her special interests and specialties. She is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American College of Physicians.
Dr. Bhargava is driven by her desire to deliver compassionate care to patients. “As a young girl, I witnessed the impact that my grandmother’s breast cancer diagnosis had on her and our family and was motivated to make a difference in the field of oncology. It gives me great satisfaction to be a part of my patient’s lives and to be able to share their happiness and sorrows.” Dr. Bhargava said.
