October 4, 2012 (Atlanta) – This month three Georgia Cancer Specialists (GCS) physicians were featured in compelling news stories related to breast cancer awareness month.
Dr. Mansoor Saleh, the director of the GCS research department and his patient, Tequila Smith, were featured in The Atlanta Voice in a story about breast cancer research, and why it is important for more African American women to enroll in clinical research studies because they are a largely underrepresented group.
Smith is part of a Phase II neoadjuvant breast cancer clinical trial at GCS to reduce the size of tumors in advance of planned surgery as well as reduce the risk of them spreading. Read the story here.
