Georgia Cancer Specialists is pleased to welcome Kathleen Lambert, M.D., as the newest physician at its Rockdale and Decatur (Stemmer Building) locations. Board certified in medical oncology, hematology and internal medicine, Dr. Lambert joins a team of nationally recognized physicians and other health care professionals, who provide advanced cancer treatment and research.
“I am excited to join the GCS team, a group of dedicated and talented physicians,” said Dr. Lambert. “I consider being a physician a great honor, and I look forward to getting to know my patients and their families on a personal level.”
Dr. Lambert received her medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia. She went on to complete her internship and residency in internal medicine, followed by a medical oncology and hematology fellowship, at Duke University Medical Center. Dr. Lambert was an attending physician at Duke for four years, prior to joining Georgia Cancer Specialists. While at Duke, she focused on hematologic malignancies (blood disorders), with a particular interest in multiple myeloma.
“As a hematologist-oncologist, my primary goals are to improve both my patients’ quality and quantity of life,”said Dr. Lambert.
