Georgia Cancer Specialists, the comprehensive cancer care leader in the state, announced the addition of Dr. James Lennon at its Macon and Milledgeville offices.
“We are excited to welcome Dr. Lennon to our practice,” said Dr. Al Soltan president of Georgia Cancer Specialists. “His expertise will enhance our cancer care services in a convenient, community-based setting.”
Dr. Lennon is board-certified in internal medicine and is board eligible in oncology and hematology. He has special interests in prostate cancer, gynecologic malignancies and hematologic disorders — in particular, myelodysplastic syndromes and myeloma. Prior to joining Georgia Cancer Specialists, Dr. Lennon was a fellow at Lankenau Medical Center in Philadelphia, served as the expert reviewer for content for breastcancer.org, and volunteered at numerous local community organizations.
“I chose to enter into the field of hematology and oncology because I felt that this subspecialty offered me the opportunity to develop strong relationships with patients and their families,” Dr. Lennon said. “I am privileged to meet patients in a vulnerable and uncertain time in their life, and to provide care that is reflective of their individualized treatment goals. I enjoy practicing in a field where innovative research allows me to offer cutting edge treatment options to each unique patient.”
After graduating from Georgia College and State University, Dr. Lennon received his medical education at West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. He is a member of the American Society of Hematology and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
