September 7, 2012 (Atlanta) — Georgia Cancer Specialists (GCS) physician, Jayanthi Srinivasiah (Dr. Jay) is among the nation’s Top Doctors for 2012 in a new listing by U.S. News and World Report.

There are 2,857 top oncologists on the list of U.S. News Top Doctors. These physicians are selected based on a peer nomination process. Within this list of the best oncologists, 1,108 have been named to a highly selective list of America’s Top Doctors (ATD) by achieving national recognition for outstanding work.
Doctors cannot and do not pay to be listed in any U.S. News and World Report guide to top doctors. They are selected based on nominations by their peers and reviewed by a physician-directed research team through the organization Castle Connolly.
Dr. Jay is board certified in medical oncology and hematology. She completed her medical degree at Bangalore Medical College in Bangalore, India, and residencies at Louis A. Weiss Memorial Hospital in Chicago, and the University of Iowa in Iowa City, IA. She completed a fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta. Dr. Jay’s areas of special interest include breast cancer, genetics, colon cancer, lung cancer, and benign hematology.
Dr. Jay is a member of the Medical Association of Georgia, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, and the DeKalb County Medical Society. Dr. Jay chairs the Cancer Committee at DeKalb Medical, which includes the chairing of the Clinical Trials and Genetics Committees. Dr. Jay appeared on the cover and was featured in an article in MD News magazine. She has been listed in Guide to America’s Top Docs 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010, and on the board of the Center for Oncology Research and Education (CORE) and the Be the Match Foundation. Dr. Jay currently serves on the GCS Board of Directors.
