“Before beginning PA school, I had the privilege of spending a year working as a clinical research coordinator for a breast cancer group. It was during this time that I knew I had made the right choice in moving from my research orientation to a more clinical goal. The patients I got to know during this time, with their hardships, their strengths, and courage, inspired me to become a PA and work in this field. Plus, hopefully, one day bridge my research background and curiosity in cancer with the clinical compassion I felt, to further their treatments and enhance their quality of life. I always remembered thinking, even though they had bad days, I had never met so many strong and hopeful patients, with such great will to live.”
