Shelley graduated from Clayton State College in 1992 with an Associate’s degree in nursing.  She started working with Georgia Cancer Specialists in 1994 as an oncology nurse.  In 2011, she graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Phoenix.  In 2013, she graduated with her Master’s degree in nursing from Kennesaw State University as a Family Nurse Practitioner.

Shelley has worked in oncology for 32 years, 30 of which have been with Georgia Cancer Specialists.  Shelley says she had no idea in 1992 that she’d love the field of oncology.  She has not only witnessed the journey of her patients and family member fighting cancer, but she also fought it herself.  In 2009, Shelley underwent extensive surgery and chemotherapy for ovarian cancer.  Shelley says she has a wonderful husband and two amazing children who have married and now has two wonderful additional children who she is blessed to watch grow up.
